Visual Update #6

01. This was taken on set of filming our music video assignment to Macklemore's Thrift Shop. One of the dancers brought her beautiful little Bischon-Frise, Ted!

02. I haven't been able to get enough of Twinings Jasmine Green Tea recently. A.K.A Princess Tea!

03. Last week I went to my first ever auction at the Park Inn Hotel near Heathrow. It was an exciting experience and there was a lot on offer- from electronics to wine to works of art and memorabilia. My particular favourites were the signatures of all those that had been to the moon and a signed Paul Mccartney guitar. Needless to say the bids got crazy and we returned home empty handed. Perhaps one day, when I've made my fortune!

04. My recent purchases include this rather dapper ensemble of a beyond retro hat and PPQ London leather creepers!

05. On Wednesday I went to the London College Of Fashion to model some lovely footwear designed by final year student Rosie Beagent. I loved her rubber boots! In just under two hours we were done as it was pretty much parts modelling and Rosie gave me a lovely card to say thank you, no client has ever done that before- how sweet!

06. It was my best friend's birthday yesterday so we had a little shindig on Friday. It was great to catchup with her, my sister and other friends!
07. Yesterday was an errand running/shopping day. I stumbled across this twee postcard in an organic shop in Marlow. Its definitely me to a tea!
08. I interviewed another FNOOB resident for our ongoing feature ' MEET TEAM FNOOB'. I love doing these little interviews and finding out interesting tidbits about the team! You can read the latest instalment here.

So thats a little insight into my last week or so, how has yours been? Do let me know by commenting below or tweeting me!

Tea Tuesdays #1- Twinings Double Mint

Introducing a new feature to my blog- Tea Tuesdays where I'll be offering up my thoughts on a different variety of tea I've managed to get my mitts on! As a nation we are known for our unfaltering tea consumption and I am no exception to this rule!

Today's tea is TWININGS DOUBLE MINT SENSATION.

Twinings are arguably one of the biggest players in the tea industry, for as long as I can remember a varied selection of their infusions have been a permanent feature in my kitchen cupboards at home. They're my go to for all my everyday herbal tea needs.
As you can see in the pictures Twinings have nailed the packaging, synchronising it's colour with that of the tea. But what of the taste, I hear you ask..

The traditional peppermint leaf recipe has been given a boost with the addition of mint oil, to reap the full benefits of this it is recommended you infuse your teabag in boiling water for 3-4 minutes. Personally I prefer to leave my teabag in for the duration of (my short lived) drinking to get a fuller, stronger taste. Once you have steeped your tea you should be left with a dark green toned tea.

Any product that bears the word 'sensation' should live up to its name and I can confirm that the use of mint oil in the blend induces a certain menthol zingy aftertaste which I can only compare to that feeling of breathing out fog on a cold morning except the fog is the taste of peppermint. Double Mint Sensation is also naturally caffeine free. Peppermint tea itself has been said to be beneficial to the digestive system so I'd suggest the best time to drink it is after a meal!

Overall I really enjoyed this brew and I'm delighted Twinings have delivered on the sensation front with a tea that not only tastes great when you're drinking it but also stays with you that little while longer.

Disclaimer: This blog post is not compensated nor sponsored by Twinings or anybody else. Twinings regularly allow people to request samples of their tea via their website and this is what I did!

What do you think of the new feature? Have you tried Double Mint Sensation?
Let me know your thoughts!

My Love Affair With Porcelain Prints

Robert Cavalli 2013

Alice McCall 2011

Ever since I could remember I've always admired porcelain patterns, markedly that of the blue willow and wedgwood's own. This admiration coupled with my fondness of homeware (I'm not even 20 yet I swear) tea, and a visit to the Gladstone Pottery Museum with my grandparents some years ago has since spiralled and manifested itself into something of a mission, a quest if you will.

I have recently spotted porcelain patterns on the catwalks of fashion which of course stirred much excitement. Though arguably a significant portion of what we see on the catwalk is reserved for couture and garments made to be appreciated for their aesethetic craft, high street designers will take inspiration from the collections shown around the world's various fashion weeks. Naturally I assumed that it wouldn't be long until I started to see my beloved blue willow print at a more affordable price on the high street. And I wasn't wrong!

I recently found myself on an impromptu shopping trip and bumped into this beauty. My eyes couldn't comprehend the reality! I've also seen a few suspect items online too, though the pattern is still somewhat scarce in the form of clothing. Having done lots of research around the pattern itself and grown so attached to it, I'm thinking of sourcing some fabric and making my very own blue willow garment. So watch this space for that one!  Below is an image just further consolidating my undying (and so not pathethic, RIGHT?) love for it:

Perhaps one day soon I'll even own my very own blue willow tea set! What are your thoughts on the pattern? Would you like to see more porcelain prints within fashion? Drop me a line or comment and let me know your thoughts!
